EASF Director Hosts Delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye to Kenya
Nairobi, Kenya –24th June 2026 – The Director of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) today received a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye to Kenya during a courtesy visit to the EASF Secretariat in Nairobi.The delegation was led by H.E. Yusuf Ziya Ayrim, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye to Kenya, and included Defence Attaché Capt. N. Seher Odabas. The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to reaffirm their longstanding partnership and explore avenues for enhanced collaboration in support of regional peace and security.
EASF Conducts SGBV Investigation Training for Trainers in Kigali
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) has completed a two-week Training of Trainers course on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) investigation in Kigali, Rwanda, held from 8 to 19 June 2026. The programme, supported by the Kingdom of Denmark, brought together more than 20 participants from EASF Member States to strengthen investigative capacity in handling SGBV cases.
EASF Participates in Validation Workshop on Regional Air Operations Framework
Kigali, Rwanda – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) participated in a validation workshop for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Combined Air Operations Manual and Standard Operating Procedures in Kigali, Rwanda, from 15–19 June 2026.

Geneva, Switzerland, 19 June 2026 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in peace and security, marking a significant step in advancing their strategic partnership.
