AU Commission Team Appraises EASF Communication Capabilities for Upcoming C3IS Deployment
Nairobi, Monday, September 8, 2025 - The Commission of the African Union, Peace Support Operations Division (PSOD), led by Col. Sofiane, visited the Secretariat of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) with the aim of appraising its communication capabilities.
The visit is part of the Commission's intent to implement a Command, Control, Communication, and Information System (C3IS) architecture. The system aims to link the African Union Headquarters Peace Support Operations Control (PSOC) with the five Regional Economic Communities/Regional Mechanisms (RECs/RMs), the African Union Continental Logistics Base (AU-CLB), and the Regional Logistics Depots (RLDs).
The visit provided a platform for the team to conduct a technical mission, appreciate the infrastructure, and familiarize themselves with communication facilities that may offer support and good planning for the deployment of the C3IS system.
