EASF Director Meets Kenya’s Inspector General to Strengthen Regional Security Cooperation

On 25 February 2026, the Director of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Secretariat, Brig. (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema, led a delegation on a courtesy call to the Inspector General of the National Police Service (NPS), Mr. Douglas Kanja, in Nairobi.

The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between EASF and Kenya’s National Police Service in advancing regional peace and security.  

Inspector General Kanja reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to working closely with EASF to address evolving security challenges across Eastern Africa. He emphasized the importance of coordinated responses, information sharing, and joint initiatives in strengthening regional stability. 

EASF Director described the engagement as a key pillar of the EASF Strategic Plan 2026–2030, particularly under Pillar Three, which promotes collaborative partnerships and strategic cooperation for peace and security. He noted that strong institutional relationships with national security agencies are essential for improving preparedness and rapid response capabilities.
