Burundi National Defence Staff visit EASF Secretariat

High ranking officers from Burundi National Defence Force Senior Command and Staff paid a visit to the Eastern Africa Standby Force Secretariat on 25th April 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Head Peace Operations Department Brig. Gen. Albert Kendagor welcomed the officers and noted that the visit was crucial in sharing experiences, perspectives and outreach within the region. EASF is one of the five regional security entities within Africa and it was developed to address regional conflicts from a grassroots’ perspective.

Brigadier Kendagor reflected on EASF’s achievements ever since its inception in 2004, especially in areas of regional capacity building meant to fulfill the readiness of the force which can deploy when conflicts arise in the region and beyond.
 
The visitors from the Burundi National Defence Senior Command and Staff College were 23 in number including the military attaché for Burundi to Kenya. It also included students from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
