EASF Maritime Command Post Exercise "Bahari Salama 1" Enters Day Two
DJIBOUTI, October 8, 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) has entered the second day of its Maritime Command Post Exercise, codenamed Bahari Salama 1, currently being conducted in Djibouti. The exercise is based on a fictional scenario set in the Republic of Carana, a notional country used to simulate a complex maritime security environment.

Doraleh Base, Djibouti — 7 October 2025 —The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) today officially launched its first-ever maritime command post exercise, Bahari Salama 1, at the Doraleh Base in Djibouti City. The event was held under the patronage of the Chief of Staff of the Djiboutian Armed Forces, General Zakaria Cheikh Ibrahim, marking a significant milestone in EASF’s operational readiness and regional maritime security cooperation.

EASF Wraps Up Regional Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop in Kigali
Kigali, Rwanda – 12 September 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) successfully concluded a five-day regional cybersecurity and cyber terrorism awareness workshop hosted at the Paramount Hotel in Kigali. Held under the theme “Think Smart, Stay Safe: Youth Against Cyber Threats,” the workshop brought together more than 50 participants from EASF member states to build awareness and resilience against emerging digital threats.
Eastern Africa Standby Force Hosts Induction Training and Workforce Planning Exercise in Nairobi
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD), is conducting a week-long Induction Training and Workforce Planning Exercise from 8–12 September 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya.
