Le Directeur de l'EASF Effectue une visite Stratégique à la Base de Doraleh en préparation du CPX Maritime à Djibouti
Djibouti, le 19 juin 2025 - Une délégation dirigée par le Directeur de la Force en Attente de l'Afrique de l'Est (EASF), a visité jeudi la base de Doraleh à Djibouti, où l'EASF va mener son prochain exercice de poste de commandement maritime (CPX) 2025. L'exercice, dont le nom de code est « Bahari Salama », est prévu pour le mois d'août.
L'EASF lance la Conférence Principale de Planification pour le CPX Maritime 2025 « Bahari Salama » à Djibouti
Djibouti, lundi le 16 Juin 2025 - La Force en attente de l'Afrique de l'Est (EASF) a officiellement lancé la Conférence Principale de planification (MPC) pour son exercice de poste de commandement maritime (CPX) 2025, dont le nom de code est « Bahari Salama », qui sera organisé en Août de cette année.
La cérémonie d'ouverture, qui s'est déroulée à Djibouti, a été présidée par le Colonel Ahmed Daher Djama, Commandant de la Marine djiboutienne. Dans son allocution de bienvenue, le Colonel Djama a déclaré : "J'ai l'honneur de vous accueillir à Djibouti : "J'ai l'honneur de vous souhaiter la bienvenue à Djibouti. En tant que nation maritime située à un endroit géostratégique critique, nous sommes pleinement conscients de l'importance de la coopération régionale pour contrer les menaces maritimes et favoriser la paix."
Dallaire Institute Delegation Visits EASF Headquarters in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, 18 June 2025–The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) on Wednesday hosted a high-level delegation from the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace, and Security – African Centre of Excellence, at its headquarters in Addis Ababa. The visit marked a significant step toward strengthening collaboration in child protection within peace support operations across the Eastern Africa region.
The delegation was led by Major General (Rtd) Ferdinand Safari, Director of the Dallaire Institute African Centre of Excellence. He was accompanied by senior officials including Ms. Madeline Zutt, Policy and Advocacy Manager; Ms. Francisca Mujawase, Deputy Director for Advocacy and Partnerships; Mr. John Kelei, Country Representative – South Sudan; and Ms. Divine Isimbi, Executive Assistant and Communications Lead.
EASF Conducts Friends of EASF Meeting in Nairobi
NAIROBI, 8 May 2025 - The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) conducted a Friends of EASF (FoE) Meeting on Thursday at its Secretariat in Nairobi, bringing together Defence Attachés and Advisors from various diplomatic missions accredited to Kenya, including representatives from EASF Member States.
EASF Director, Brigadier (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema, welcomed participants and acknowledged the vital role of partners in supporting EASF’s mission. “It is both an honour and a privilege to address you our valued friends and partners whose unwavering support continues to empower and guide our mission,” he said. Brig. Njema thanked the Kingdom of Denmark for its support in facilitating the event.
EASF Conducts Civilian Recruitment Exercise in Djibouti to Strengthen Peacekeeping Capacity
Djibouti, 25 April 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) successfully conducted its Civilian Recruitment, Rostering, and Verification Exercise in Djibouti from 22 to 25 April 2025. Held at the Best Western Premier Hotel, the exercise aimed to enhance the region’s readiness for peacekeeping missions by strengthening its civilian component.
Strengthening Civilian Roles in Peace Operations: EASF Concludes Key Workshop in Mombasa
MOMBASA, KENYA – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) concluded a successful Civilian National Focal Point Workshop held from 10th to 14th March 2025 in Mombasa, Kenya. The workshop brought together Focal Points from EASF Member States to enhance coordination and readiness for civilian roles in peace operations.
