Commander of the German United Nations Training Center Visits EASF

Commander Werner Klaffus from the German United Nations Training Center led a team of officers on a visit to the EASF Secretariat, in Karen, Nairobi, on 9th July 2018. The delegation was received by the Director of the organization, Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh.

The German United Nations Training Center is a multinational, inter-agency training facility based in Germany. The center provides pre-deployment training courses with a special focus on action and response. Soldiers of the German Armed Forces, of allies and partners, civilian personnel and police forces are trained at the Centre in preparation for peace support missions around the world.

In his opening remarks, the Director of the EASF emphasized on the importance of information sharing in strengthening the collaboration between EASF and other institutions like the German United Nations Training Center. The Director's speech was followed by a presentation from the EASF Head of the Police Component, outlining the roles and mandate of the Police Component.

Commander Klaffus and his delegation are in Kenya as part of an exchange visit.
