Strategic Plan 2015-2020 Review Starts

The Eastern African Standby Force launched a three-day Strategic Plan 2015-2020 Review Workshop on 23rd April 2018 in Naivasha, Kenya.

The Strategic Plan 2015-2020 is a six year road map that defines how the Standby Force intends to conducts it's affairs in terms of prioritization and application of resources. The plan is structured in five key chapters covering:

- EASF core values, mission, vision
- Operational, environmental and situation analysis
- Strategic framework including pillars, goals and objectives
- Implementation and financing and,
- Monitoring and evaluation

During the opening session, the EASF Director, Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh expressed his confidence that the participants present would engage themselves candidly with the issues at hand. The outcomes of the workshop would have a considerable impact on the strategic growth of the organization in the coming years. Dr. Bouh emphasized on the importance of periodically reviewing the position of the organization against the background of the Strategic Plan so that necessary adjustments as well as focus on operational short to medium term goals can be done accordingly.

The workshop, which comes to a close on 25th April 2018, is being attended by Members of EASF Senior Management, a Representative from African Union, the Head of GIZ/African Union's Police Project, Heads of Structures and Components, AU-Liaison Officer, Officers from the Planning Element (PlanElm), a Representative of Technical Advisors to EASF and other Members of Staff.
