EASF Honors Major Jude Raoul at Farewell Ceremony in Addis Ababa

Maj JudeA special sendoff ceremony was held on Tuesday, October 29, to honor Major Jude Raoul, who has completed two years of distinguished service as Chief of Administration and Finance at the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In his farewell remarks, EASF Chief of staff log base Col. Julien Rwangaramble praised Major Raoul for his exceptional contributions during his tenure.

"From day one, although I was not here, I have been told that Major Raoul brought not only financial expertise but also a genuine passion for his work," Col. Julien said. "His ability to navigate complex challenges with grace and integrity has been truly inspiring."

Under Major Raoul's leadership, the EASF’s administrative and financial operations have seen significant improvements, ensuring the force had the necessary resources to achieve its goals efficiently. "Your dedication to transparency and accountability has set a higher standard for us all," Col. Julien continued. "You have built strong relationships across the organization-here in Addis Ababa, in Nairobi, and even at the African Union headquarters-fostering preparation, teamwork, and a spirit of collaboration." 

EASF Force commander’s Getachew Ali acknowledged the lasting impact Major Raoul’s leadership has had on the EASF team. "Your positive influence will be felt here for years to come. As you move on to your next chapter, know that you leave behind a legacy of excellence and a team that is stronger for having worked alongside you," he said. 

The ceremony concluded with well wishes for Major Raoul’s future endeavors. "We wish you every success in your next journey and hope you carry fond memories of your time with us. Thank you for your service, your commitment, and your teamwork. We will always seek your input here at EASF." 

Major Raoul is now set to return to Seychelles, where he will continue his professional journey. EASF extended its best wishes for a safe journey and all the best in his future tasks.
