Meeting the EASF Promotion Team

Since attainment of Full Operational Capability (FOC) in 2014, EASF has been enhancing its capacity in order maintain its readiness for deployment in peace support missions in the region or within the continent should the need arise.

As a regional organisation owned by its member states, EASF is conscious that its rationale and purpose must be well understood by the people of Eastern Africa and the continent in general. Consequently, the organisation wants to meet the Eastern African people and discuss its important mission to promote peace and security. This endeavour constitutes an important element of the EASF Communication and Advocacy Strategy 2015 – 2017 which is currently being promoted through the EASF Open Days in each of its member states.

In order to roll out this effort, the organisation has launched its “EASF Promotion Team”. The promotion team is a standby capacity at the EASF Secretariat organised and prepared to visit any institution or organisation with an interest to discuss the concept of peace and security. A visit by EASF Promotion Team takes its point of departure in a three hour “standard” programme as depicted below. However, the programme can be adjusted in accordance to requests and themes forwarded by the inviting party.

09.00 – 09.15: Welcome and introduction.
09.15 – 10.15: Presentation of EASF concept, including short video.
10.15 – 10.45: Introduction to discussions.
10.45 – 12.00: Discussions.

In the event that your institution could be interested in meeting the EASF Promotion Team, kindly write an email to us informing us of your interest using the email address below:
