15th Extraordinary Policy Organs Meeting Kicks Off

The 15th Extraordinary Policy Organs Meeting (POM) kicked off on 31st July 2017 in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. The meeting is organized to  consolidate plans for the forth-coming Field Training Exercise (FTX-2017).

FTX 2017 will take place in November 2017 in Port Sudan, Republic of The Sudan. It will provide yet another opportunity for military, civilian and police to test their skills in readiness for deployment in Peace Support Operations (PSO).

The EASF Policy Organs provide guidance for executing EASF affairs at the policy and management levels. The first session will be the Experts Working Group Meeting.  EASF Experts group which consists of technical experts will discuss and critically analyze the FTX plan and make recommendations for consideration by the Chiefs of Defence and Security.  The Chiefs will further examine the recommendations critically. The highest level in this series of meetings will be the Ministers of Defence and Security, who will provide high-level guidance and make final decisions on FTX 2017.
