EASF Receives New Finnish Technical Advisor
On the morning of 7th March 2018, the EASF Director, Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh, received the new Finnish Technical Advisor to EASF, CDR Stefan Sivaro at the Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi.
Finland has been an ardent supporter of EASF in capacity building efforts especially in providing technical and financial assistance in this area. The outgoing Finnish Technical Advisor to EASF, Colonel Seppo Maata, has been at the forefront of Peace Support Operations' trainings for EASF's Military Component over the last few years. Ever since the Standby Force gained Full Operational Capability in December 2014, there has been much focus on maintaining the critical mass required should the regional peace keeper be mandated to deploy by the African Union.
The Director thanked the Government and the People of Finland for the enormous support they have accorded EASF over the years.
The meeting was also attended by the EASF Head of Peace Operations Department, Brigadier Albert Kendagor and the outgoing Finnish Technical Advisor to EASF Colonel Seppo Maata.
