Ambassador of Denmark Commends EASF's Rapid Development
The Danish Ambassador to Kenya, Her Excellency Mette Knudsen held an important meeting with the EASF Director Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh, on 7th November 2017 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The meeting aimed at discussing the upcoming Field Training Exercise (FTX) 2017, the EASF Activity Plan 2018 as well as diverse opportunities for EASF's extended role in contributing more to regional peace and security.
Apart from providing the Standby Force with valuable technical advisory services in many strategic areas, the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark together with United Kingdom donated a Forward Force Headquarters' Start Up Kit to EASF on 3rd December 2015. The kit, comprising mobile tented accommodation, power, water, sanitation and conference facilities can be set up in almost any kind of terrain within a few hours. In course of the year 2017, the two countries have teamed up once again to provide EASF with state of the art data and voice communication equipment which will further boost the capabilities and effectiveness of an EASF Forward Force during a mission or an exercise.
During the meeting, Amb. Knudsen was accompanied by the Danish Defence Attaché to Kenya, Colonel Joern Rasmussen, who is also the Chairman of Friends of EASF. The EASF team accompanying the Director was made up of the Head of Finance and Administration Colonel Leterbrah Kahsay, the Joint Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. (Dr.) Charles Rudakubana and Military Assistant to the Director Lt. Colonel David Chesire.
