EAST African Standby Force Hosts Danish Defence Delegation for Strategic Talks
November 14, 2024 – The East African Standby Force (EASF), led by its Director, Brigadier Paul Kahuria Njema, welcomed a high-level delegation from the Danish Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Defence Command Denmark (DCDA) for a crucial meeting aimed at strengthening future cooperation on capacity building, peace and security, and cybersecurity.
EASF Delegation Conducts Successful Verification of Djibouti’s Pledged Capabilities
A delegation from the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), led by Brigadier (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema, Director of EASF, successfully conducted the verification of Djibouti’s pledged military, police, and civilian capabilities. The exercise, which took place from 5 to 6 November 2024, aimed to assess the readiness and effectiveness of Djibouti’s contributions to regional security within the EASF framework. In his opening speech, Brigadier General Taher Ali Mohamed, Chief of Defense Staff of Djibouti, conveyed the greetings and strong support of Djibouti’s Chief of Defense Staff, Army General Zakaria Cheikh Ibrahim. He emphasized the importance of the verification exercise, noting that it reflects Djibouti's unwavering commitment to regional peace and security.
16th ASF Training Implementation Workshop Held in Nairobi Kenya, Focuses on Technology in Peace Support Operations
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) hosted the 16th Annual African Standby Force (ASF) Training Implementation Workshop (TIW) from October 28 to November 1, 2024. The event, held in Nairobi, brought together key stakeholders from across the continent and beyond to discuss the theme “Leveraging Technology in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Peace Support Operations (PSO) Training."
