Mainstreaming Human Rights into Conflict Prevention

The EASF Peace Operations' Department has been conducting a joint project regarding Mainstreaming Human Rights into Conflict Prevention (Phase II) with the African Union Conflict Early Warning System, and

the World Bank Group (WBG) through its Global Program for Reintegration Support (GPRS).

In this regard, EASF is hosting a round-table meeting with nominated experts from the continent which was officially opened by the Director, Brig. Gen. Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa on 22nd March 2021.

The team's work covers the exchange of technical insights on human rights and conflict prevention methodologies. This effort seeks to synergise conceptual understanding, data collection and analysis methodologies. Further, the meeting aims at exchanging knowledge and develop capacities of analysts on human rights based approaches to conflict prevention.

A total of 15 participants (8 on premises and 7 virtually) are taking part in the meeting. It is funded by the United Nations Human Rights Commission through the World Bank.
