Enhancing Peace and Security in the Eastern Africa Region

U.S. Africa Command in Talks with EASF Leadership

Category: News

The top management of the Eastern Africa Standby Force held talks revolving around the conduct of a possible joint Command Post Exercise (CPX) with the United States African Command (USAFRICOM) at the Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi, on 24th June 2021.

The United States has been supporting peace initiatives across the Eastern Africa region over many decades and is one of EASF's partners who operate together with the Standby Force under the umbrella named "Friends of EASF".

Such discussions provide a platform to share common values among partners seeking to achieve common objectives. Peace, security, and stability within the Eastern Africa region are pivotal in the advancement and development of, not only the region itself but the wider African population which directly or indirectly collaborates with the region.
