All set for the Command Post Exercise

After four days of deliberations, the final planning conference ended with the finalization of the exercise plan and related documents for the upcoming Command Post Exercise (CPX) 2022, codenamed "MASHARIKI SALAAM 2022".

 The participants of the final planning conference were drawn from EASF structures including facilitators, experts and representatives from the EASF Member States. Addressing the participants during the closing ceremony, the EASF Acting Director, Joint Chief of Staff (JCOS), Brig. Gen. PSC Dr Osman Mohammed Abbas pointed out the importance of effective planning ahead of the CPX and the vital role of member states in supporting the CPX. ‘’For sure our journey has not been easy, especially with the challenges posed by the COVID 19 pandemic, however, we are grateful to each and every one of you for making the effort even to be present here with us despite the stringent measures put in place to mitigate the pandemic.’’ Concluded Brig. On his part, the Chairperson of the Final Planning Conference, Maj Menassie Hailu Selassie reminded the participants of their pivotal role in the successful conduct of the CPX.

Before the closing ceremony, delegates of the final planning conference agreed on the exercise scenario, training package, manning list, press/media plan, evaluation plan including the opening, closing and Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) arrangements among others. This was followed by the signing of the FPC final report. The command post exercise will be held from 21st March to 3rd April 2022 at the KCB Leadership Center in Nairobi, Kenya.
