Enhancing Peace and Security in the Eastern Africa Region

Pakistan National Defence University Visits EASF

EASF hosted a delegation of the Pakistan National Defence University at the Secretariat in Nairobi, on 26th April 2017. The delegation held discussions with management of EASF about important developments and achievements.

The EASF Director Dr Abdillahi Omar Bouh said the visit was a significance means to share experiences and knowledge between the two organizations.  “EASF is one of the five regional organizations in Africa mandated to enhance peace and security on the continent and beyond,” he added.

The Director informed the guests of the steps EASF has taken to move to achieve its vision and mission.  This, he said, includes equipping the organisation with personnel from all member states.

The head of the visiting delegation, Brigadier Mushtaq Ali, expressed appreciation for the discussions and presentations.  He noted that the standby force concept was one of its kind which brings together a force to prevent intra-state conflicts and to ensure peace in the region and on the entire continent.

The delegation consisted of 21 military, civilian personnel and allied officers.
