Enhancing Peace and Security in the Eastern Africa Region

EASF Director Pays Courtesy Call to Ambassador of Kuwait

The EASF Director Dr Abdillahi Omar Bouh paid a courtesy call to the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Kenya, His Excellency Amb. Qusai R Al-Farhan at his office in Nairobi on 14th June 2017.

During the meeting, the two leaders held lengthy discussions on matters of peace and security on both global and regional arenas. They agreed

that there is an urgent need to expand and enhance cooperation among countries and institutions in order to mitigate any possible threats to peace and stability on a wider scale.

The Ambassador and his guest explored possible areas of cooperation noting that capacity building supported through technical knowhow would have a great impact on improving the acquired Full Operational Capability (FOC) status of EASF. Such initiatives will ensure that the regional peacekeeper can respond to crisis' situations in a timely and effective manner.

On his part, H.E. Amb. Qusai R Al-Farhan thanked the EASF delegation and reassured the guests that the State of Kuwait firmly believes that progress and prosperity can only be achieved when peace and stability prevail. He expressed his willingness to create a strong relationship with EASF in its efforts in building peace and security in the region.

The Director of EASF was accompanied by Brig. Albert K. Kendagor (Head of Peace Operations' Department), Lt Col. David K. Chesire (MA to the Director) and Mr Ahmed Abdullahi Mohamed (Bilingual Secretary – Arabic).
