Category: News

An EASF Internal three-day Staff Training Workshop which started on Tuesday 27th November came to a successful conclusion on Thursday 29th November 2018 at the EASF Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi.

The workshop aimed at ensuring that EASF's Leadership and Mission Planning & Management Section (MP&MS) enhance their understanding of their operational roles and responsibilities in the event of a regional or continental deployment.

During the closing ceremony, the EASF Director Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh thanked the Governments of EASF Member States for availing highly qualified personnel to take part in the workshop. Dr. Bouh reiterated his commitment to ensure that the Standby Force remains ready at all times should the need for deployment of its forces arise. He thanked the Nordic countries for their unequivocal support they have accorded EASF over the years.

The Danish Technical Advisor to EASF Colonel Claus Pedersen underlined the importance of continuous capacity building in maintenance as well as enhancement of the Full Operational Capability (FOC) status acquired by EASF in 2014. He expressed his profound optimism that these notable developments would continue with the same vigour, even in future.

The workshop was fully funded by the Nordic Advisory and Coordination Staff (NACS).
