Enhancing Peace and Security in the Eastern Africa Region

EASF Rotates Two More Officers at Management Level

In accordance with it's Rotational Matrix, the Eastern Africa Standby Force received Ms Lina Peggy Hoareau who is taking over the leadership of Finance and Administration Department from Colonel Leterbrahn Kahsay and Colonel John Njenga who will be succeeding Colonel Mohamed Ali as EASF-African Union Liaison Officer on 20th August 2019.

Welcoming the incoming staff at the Secretariat was the EASF Director, Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh, accompanied by Senior Members of Staff.

The EASF Rotational Matrix is a platform which ensures that professional and management staff positions are held by personnel from all EASF Member states on an equal basis. Prospective candidates, usually seconded by relevant Member States, undergo a rigorous vetting process in order to ascertain that they are capable of handling complex Peace Support Operations' responsibilities as may be required in the multinational and multidimensional working environment.

The outgoing Head of Administration and Finance Colonel Leterbrahn Kahsay has been at the fore-front of the implementation of numerous projects both in the Finance docket as well as general administration which have contributed towards improved efficiency in performance of staff related tasks. Over the same three year period, Colonel Mohamed Ali, the outgoing EASF-African Union Liaison Officer, has played a vital role in representing EASF at the apex of the continental leadership.
