EASF Concludes Police Mid-Level Management Course

In accordance with the EASF approved Activity Plan 2016 EASF successfully conducted a Police Mid-level Management Course in order to prepare for the Police standby force for AU/EASF Mandated Peace Support Operations (PSOs). The course ran from 29th

August to 9th September 2016 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The course was informed by the necessity to develop and maintain the achieved Full Operational Capability (FOC) for the multinational PSO deployment through having sufficient mid-level managers in the region that are capable of performing managerial tasks during peacekeeping deployment. Indicators show that only a few countries in EASF Member States have well trained mid-level managers as per the requirements of the FOC. The course thus provided an opportunity for Member States to strengthen their capacities and improve overall performance owing to this additional training.

Participants of the course were from Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda. The course facilitators were from Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Denmark.
