EASF Calls on Operations' and Trainings' Commander

The EASF Joint Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Dr. PSC Osman Mohamed Abbas Osman paid a courtesy call to the Operations' and Trainings' Commander of the Burundi National Defence Forces Brig. Gen. Leonidas Niyungeko in Bujumbura, Burundi, on 12th August 2021.

The lengthy discussions between the two leaders focused on a number of important issues. Among these, talks about EASF's Panel of the Wise, EASF's Establishment's Agreement, Command Post Exercise 2021 scheduled to take place in November, deployment of EASF's force as well as the next Policy Organs' Meetings, took center stage.

Burundi is one of the 10 Member States that form the Eastern Africa Standby Force. EASF conducts regular updates about its activities to leaders across the region.
