Management in Meeting with Chairperson of FoEASF

The management of the Eastern Africa Standby Force held a breakfast meeting with the Chairperson of the Friends of EASF (FoEASF) Colonel Joern Rasmussen in Karen, Nairobi, on 22nd November 2021.

During the meeting, the EASF Director, Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa briefed Col Rasmussen on the progress made by the Standby Force in the recent past. Brig Gen Fayisa touched on the review of the Activity Plan 2021 as well as the Activity Plan 2022. The Director also informed the Chairperson about the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Policy Organs' Meetings.

On his part, Col Rasmussen informed the EASF delegation of the next Friends of EASF meeting. Currently, the Friends of EASF are working together with the Standby Force to bring new partners on board. The Friends of EASF have been playing a major role in supporting the Standby Force's capacity building activities.

In this meeting, Brig Gen Fayisa was accompanied by the Head of Administration and Finance Ms Lina Hoareau, the Head of Peace Operations' Department Brig Gen Henry Isoke, the Joint Chief of Staff Brig Gen Dr PSC Osman Mohamed Abbas, the Coordinator of International Advisory Coordinating Staff Mr. Peter Zartsdahl and the Military Assistant Lt Col Boniface Chomba.
