La Somalie Cède la Présidence de l'EASF à l'Ouganda

Mogadiscio, Somalie – 18 Décembre 2025 La République fédérale de Somalie a officiellement transféré jeudi la présidence de la Force en Attente de l'Afrique de l'Est (EASF) à l'Ouganda lors de la 35e Réunion Ordinaire des Organes Directeurs qui s'est tenue à Mogadiscio. Le Premier Ministre somalien, Hamza Abdi Barre, a assisté à la cérémonie de passation de pouvoir.

L’EASF Lance les 35èmes Réunions Ordinaires des Organes Directeurs à Mogadiscio

Mogadiscio, Somalie - 13 Décembre 2025 - La Force en Attente de l’Afrique de l’Est (EASF) a lancé Samedi ses 35èmes Réunion Ordinaires des Organes Directeurs à Mogadiscio, marquant une étape majeure dans la coopération régionale en matière de sécurité sous le thème "EASF : Deux décennies d’engagement pour promouvoir la paix et la sécurité régionales". La réunion se déroulera jusqu’au 18 Décembre 2025, en commençant par les sessions du Groupe de Travail d’Experts (EWG) du 13 au 15 Décembre.

Ongoing FPU Commanders Course at the Djibouti National Gendarmerie School

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) has launched its ongoing Formed Police Unit (FPU) Commanders Course at the Djibouti National Gendarmerie School, running from 24 November to 5 December 2025. The training brings together 22 senior officers from EASF Member States to strengthen leadership, coordination and operational readiness for future peace support missions.

EASF Concludes Regional Workshop on Preventing Child Soldier Recruitment in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, 27 November 2025 - The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Logistics Base in Addis Ababa has concluded a three-day regional workshop focused on strengthening efforts to prevent the recruitment and use of children in armed conflict. The training, organized in partnership with the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace and Security, brought together representatives from EASF Member States and staff for intensive sessions on child protection in security operations.

Kampala, Uganda – November 17, 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) has opened a five-day regional workshop on cybersecurity and cyber terrorism awareness at the Onomo Hotel in Kampala. Themed “Think Smart, Stay Safe: Youth Against Cyber Threats,” the event aims to strengthen regional capacity, promote digital safety, and empower young people to counter emerging online threats.

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) is proud to announce that it has been ranked as the second-best performing Regional Economic Community/Regional Mechanism (REC/REM) by the African Union for the year 2025. This recognition follows a thorough AU evaluation of performance, delivery of AU-funded activities, and adherence to standards of transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

EASF Inducts Second Cohort of the Panel of Elders in Naivasha, Kenya

From 11–13 November 2025, the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) held an important induction workshop in Naivasha, Kenya, to officially welcome the 2nd Cohort of the EASF Panel of Elders. The workshop was opened by the Director of the EASF Secretariat, who thanked the Guest of Honor, EASF Policy Organs, and key partners, the African Union Commission (Peace Fund) and the Royal Kingdom of Denmark, for their continued support to regional peacebuilding.
