EASF Directors Inspect Ongoing Works at Force Headquarters in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, 26 January 2026 - The Director of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), Brigadier General (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema, on Monday visited the EASF Force Headquarters (FHQ) compound in Addis Ababa to inspect ongoing construction and renovation works.

Brig. Gen. Njema was accompanied by the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCOS) , Brigadier General Stephen Kashure. The visit focused on assessing progress at the site and reviewing developments related to infrastructure improvements at the headquarters.

During the inspection, the EASF Director commended the progress achieved so far and expressed satisfaction with the quality of work being undertaken. He also provided guidance on current activities and outlined priorities for upcoming phases of the project.

The Force Commander and LTC Commandants were present during the visit and briefed the Directors on the construction process, including the development of new security accommodation facilities within the FHQ compound.

The ongoing works form part of efforts to enhance operational readiness and improve facilities at the EASF Force Headquarters.
