Swedish Ambassador on Courtesy Call to EASF Secretariat

H.E Amb. Anna Jardfelt, Ambassador of Sweden accompanied by the Defense Attaché, visited the EASF Secretariat on 26th September 2018. The aim of the visit was to discuss the major achievements and the future plans of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF).

The Director of EASF Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh welcomed the delegation and proceeded by sharing the achievements of EASF in terms of building regional capacity to ensure the readiness of the Forces to deploy at any time when and if the need arises.
 
Dr. Bouh expressed his appreciation to the Government of Sweden and the Nordic Countries for their endless assistance in terms of financial and technical support for more than ten years.

The Ambassador of Sweden H.E Amb. Anna Jardfelt said, "we will continue to support EASF both as Sweden and Nordic Countries in order to enhance peace, security and stability in the region". Ambassador Jardfelt emphasized on the strong bond and cooperation between EASF, Sweden and the Nordic counties. She expressed her happiness, on the positive achievements of the organization and its readiness to deploy at any time. The Ambassador also expressed her country's great willingness to support EASF in the future.

The Head of Peace Operations' Department Brig. Albert Kendagor made a presentation on the general overview and main achievements of the organization.
