Verification of Civilian Database in Kigali, Rwanda
The Civilian Component of the Eastern Africa Standby Force undertook a Civilian Roster Database Verification Exercise from 2nd to 4th June 2016 in Rwanda's capital city, Kigali.
The purpose of the exercise was to validate available capacity within this EASF Member State. This Initial Profile Verification Stage would be followed by a transfer of verified personnel profiles into the African Standby Capacity's Database. Within the EASF Region, the exercise started in January 2016 and has been accomplished in three Member States i.e. Kenya, Uganda and Comoros in that order. Rwanda is the fourth country in the proposed line-up.
The African Union (AU) has been populating its continental database which holds profiles of personnel trained in Peace Support Operations (PSOs). The Eastern Africa Standby Force is one of AU's five Regional Mechanisms which make up the African Standby capacity.
