EASF Observers Deployed in Rwanda for General Elections

From as early as 5.00 am local time, July 15th 2024, Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) observers were already in various polling stations in all four provinces including the capital city, Kigali. Voting went smoothly in most polling stations in Rwanda with a high voter turnout from 9.7 million registered voters.
The EASF-EOM is led by H.E Ambassador Kennedy Mokaya, from the Republic of Kenya, assisted by Honourable Madame Moinaecha Mroudjae and the Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Ali Said Bacar from Comoros.
The EASF-EOM comprises 20 short-term observers drawn from the 10 Member States, the mission is expected to issue its preliminary statement containing initial findings and recommendations on the conduct of the elections on 17th July 2024.
