President Faure of Seychelles Welcomes EASF Director

The Director of EASF, Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh met with the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Excellency President Danny Faure on 8th February 2018. Dr. Bouh, who is on a working visit to the Seychelles, was accompanied by the EASF Head of Civilian Component, Mr. Steve Lalande.

The Director expressed appreciation for the membership of Seychelles in EASF, especially its contribution towards the domain of maritime security, where Seychelles plays a key role in the region. The President in turn congratulated the Director upon his appointment and welcomed him to Seychelles on his first visit to the islands.

The President also expressed that Seychelles will continue to support EASF and wished the Director well in his vision of an EASF which is working together for the benefit of the region.

The Director's busy schedule for the day included four additional meetings; meeting with the Vice President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr. Vincent Meriton at State House, meeting with Commissioner of Police Mr. Kishnan Labonte at Police Headquarters in Victoria city, meeting with Secretary of State for the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Barry Faure and a final meeting with the Chief of Defence Forces, Brigadier Leopold Payet and his deputy, Colonel Clifford Roseline.
