EASF Director Hosts Indian Defence Attache

The Indian Defence Advisor at the High Commission in Nairobi, Kenya, Capt. (Navy) Nitesh Garg paid a courtesy call to the EASF Director Brig. Gen. Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa at the Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi on 30th July 2020.

The meeting, which was the first official one between the two leaders, also provided a platform to discuss matters of peace and security in the Eastern Africa region.

Indian Naval forces have vast experiences in combating maritime threats on the sub-continent. EASF's partnerships with many countries with such experiences have cultivated an avenue of sharing technical expertise which has in turn led to the enhancement of the Standby Force's capacity in conducting Peace Support Operations should need arise.
