EASF at the consultative meeting of the Peace and Security Council

PSC_BurundiThe third consultative meeting of the Peace and Security Council and Regional Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms was held in Bujumbura, Burundi. The EASF Director Brig (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema also attended the meeting, which was aimed at providing a platform for member states to engage in dialogue and collaboration on matters related to peace and security in the region.

 

Representing the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and Cabinet Secretary for Defence of the Republic of Kenya, Aden Duale, Maj Gen Frederick Leuria, Assistant Chief of Defence Forces in charge of Operations, Plans, Doctrine and Training, led the EASF delegation at the meeting. The meeting reiterated the importance of the close working relationship between the PSC and the RECs/RMs especially in matters relating to crisis and conflicts situations in the Continent.

Discussions during the meeting focused on various issues, including conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and the fight against terrorism. Overall, the meeting was a valuable opportunity for member states to exchange ideas, work together towards a more peaceful and secure region.
