Early Warning Systems' Programing Workshop in Progress
In accordance with the Early Warning Systems' implementation plans, the Eastern Africa Standby Force convened a three day workshop commencing on 6th June 2018 at the Kenya Commercial Bank Training School in Karen, Nairobi, Kenya.
EASF Launches the Second Wave of IMS Courses
The 22nd week of 2018 saw the Eastern Africa Standby Force roll out a two-week Integrated Mission Support (IMS) course at the Logistics' Training Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The course, which started on 28th May, is the second multidimensional IMS course planned for 2018.
EASF Takes Part in ASC Annual Coordination Meeting
The Eastern Africa Standby Force sent a team comprising some members of staff to the 5th African Standby Capacity (ASC) annual coordination meeting, held from the 29th to 31st May 2018 at the Semiramis Continental Hotel in Cairo, Egypt.
EASF Benchmarks Against Continental Early Warning System
A team of experts from EASF's Peace Operations' Department took part in a two day benchmarking exercise against the Continental Early Warning System (CEWS) of the African Union, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 22nd and 23rd May 2018.
EASF Oversees Staff Rotation at the Secretariat
In accordance with EASF's Rotation Matrix, the Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi, bid farewell to Officers from the Planning Element (PlanElm) and welcomed their replacements as well as a new Technical Advisor on Friday 11th May 2018.
AU Examines APSA Programme Implementation Progress
The African Union is conducting a Monitoring and Evaluation exercise in regard to the progress of the implementation of the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) by the EASF Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi on 10th and 11th May 2018.
EASF Participates in AU Commission's Meeting
The Easter Africa Standby Force took part in a high level meeting on Peace Operations Training and Capacity Building themed "African Perspectives on Innovative Capacity Building for Effective Peace Operations" in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 3rd May 2018. Representing the Standby Force at the meeting was the Director, Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh.
Integrated Mission Planning Course in Progress
Week 17 of the year 2018 saw the Eastern Africa Standby Force launch a two-week Integrated Mission Planning Course (IMPC) at the EASF Logistics' Base in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Strategic Plan 2015-2020 Review Starts
The Eastern African Standby Force launched a three-day Strategic Plan 2015-2020 Review Workshop on 23rd April 2018 in Naivasha, Kenya.
EASF Open Day in Burundi Successfully Concluded
The EASF Open Day in Burundi was held in at the capital city, Bujumbura, on 20th April 2018. Starting in 2015, the regional peace-keeper has been rolling out a series of Open Days in its Member States in order to shed more light on its activities to the general public.
Preparations for EASF Day in Burundi in Full Gear
The Eastern Africa Standby Force is holding its first ever EASF Day Burundi in the capital city, Bunjumbura on Friday 19th April 2018. EASF days in Member States aim at demystifying the entire scope of Peace Support Operations (PSOs) by making the public understand the responsibilities and mandates of the regional peace-keeper.
