EASF Signs MOU with UNITAR

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the United Nations' Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) on 10th March 2022 at the EASF Secretariat Headquarters in Karen, Nairobi, Kenya.

The aim of the MOU is to establish a framework for cooperation between the two parties, setting out the terms and conditions for support towards EASF capacity building through training and research.
 
At the signing ceremony, EASF Director, Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa expressed his organization’s interest to work with UNITAR for EASF’s capacity building efforts. Signing the MOU on behalf of UNITAR, Director of Division for Peace, Mr. Evariste Karambizi, on his part appreciated the efforts of EASF to enhance peace and security in the region, and expressed his organization’s commitment to work with EASF.

Also present at the signing ceremony were members of EASF's Executive Management.
