EASF's Experts' Working Group Meeting Comes to a Close
A three day meeting of EASF Experts' Working Group which started on the 5th December came to a successful end on the 7th of December 2016. The meeting, which took place at the EASF Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi, focused primarily on the Activity Plan
and Budget for the year 2017.
The meeting also aimed at preparing the Regional Peacekeeping Force for deployment as the Continental Standby Force as appointed by the African Union for the period starting January to June 2017. EASF was the first among the five peace keeping forces on the African continent to gain Full Operational Capability Status by the end of 2014.
Out of its 10 Member States (Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda) 9 of these were represented in the high level decision making meeting.
